1. Lataa Oracle Java (self extracting) sen omalta nettisivulta ja valitse Linux self-extracting file vaikka rpm file on myös tyrkyllä, mutta se ei toimi ainakaan Sampo Pankissa.

2. Tee hakemisto /usr/local/java roottina

su

mkdir /usr/local/java

3. Kopioi ladattu jre-6u31-linux-i586.bin tiedosto hakemistoon /usr/local/java ja siirry samaan hakemistoon.

Esimerkki:

cp /home/mandriva/jre-6u31-linux-i586.bin /usr/local/java

cd /usr/local/java

4. 5. Anna tiedostolle suoritusoikeus

chmod a+x jre-6u31-linux-i586.bin

5. Asenna Java

6. Tee linkkki Firefoxille

ln -s /usr/local/java/jre1.6.0_31/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Jos tulee viesti, että linkki on jo olemassa, niin poista vanha ja tee sitten uusi linkki

rm /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so

ln -s /usr/local/java/jre1.6.0_31/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Jos olet tehnyt linkin myös kotihakemistossasi olevaan .mozilla/plugins hakemistoon, niin poista vanha linkki ja tee uusi.

7. Avaa Firefoxissa tyhjä välilehti ja kirjoita siihen about:plugins

Jos ja kun Java näkyy pluginseissa, niin sitten vaikka Sampo Pankkiin asioimaan .. :popcorn:

Jos jokin muu minun lisäksi tarvitsee kyseisiä binaareja, niin pakkasin ne liitetiedostossa olevaan pakettiin .. :whistle:

2. Tyyppi on sovellus.

3. Anna käynnistimelle nimi ja valitse kuvake.

4. Käynnistimeen voi antaa suora komento tai sitten polku käynnistyvään ohjelmaan.

Esimerksi sammutuskäynnistin työpöydälle luodaan komennolla:

gnome-session-save --shutdown-dialog

Uloskirjautumiskäynnistin luodaan komennolla:

gnome-session-save --logout-dialog

4. Valitse Ethernet ja edelleen Aseta

5. Aseta verkkoasetukset -> Manuaalinen asettaminen

IP-osoite 192.168.1.2
Verkkopeite 255.255.255.0
Salli käyttäjän hallita yhteyttä

6. Avaa nettiselain, ja kirjoita osoiteriville modeemin osoite (esim. 192.168.1.1)

7. Kirjaudu ja muuta asetuksia tarvittaessa.

8. Modeemin asettamisen jälkeen palauta alkuperäinen IP-osoite verkkokeskuksessa.

Tuon formatoinnin seurauksena swap-osion UUID muuttuu, joten se täytyy korjata sitten oikeaksi /etc/fstab-tiedostoon.

Uuden initrd.img tiedoston voi tehdä myös siten, että poistaa sen vanhan ensin ja sitten tekee uuden

su

cd /boot

ls

rm <vanha initrd.img tiedosto>

mkinitrd <initrd.img> <vmlinuz-tiedoston loppuosa>
