Paina Seuraava. Näkyviin tulee lista lilossa näkyvistä käynnistystietueista, valitse niistä se windows ja paina muokkaa. Laita rasti kohtaan 'oletus' ja paina OK. Paina valmis ja jos virheilmoituksia ei tule, pitäisi seuraavalla käynnistyksellä windowsin olla oletuskäynnistyjänä.

Avataan /boot/grub/menu.lst johonkin tekstieditoriin.

Sieltä Default kohdan arvoa muuttamalla valitaan oletusvalinta (listan ensimmäinen kohta on numero 0).

Tietysti on mahdollista siirtää se windows yksinkertaisesti "ylimmäksi" listalla ja jättää default kohdan arvoksi 0.
