Fail2ban osaa itse asiassa paljon enemmän kuin tuo DenyHosts, fail2banilta onnistuu mm. IP-osoitteen lisääminen palomuurin sääntöihin ja se ymmärttää paljon muitakin logeja kuin vain ssh:n. Otinpa myös fail2banin koekäyttöön ja tutkailen mitä se sanoo, kun Taiwanin pojat hammeroivat aika ajoin mailiservuani ja yrittävät välittää spämmiä maailmalle sen kautta (onnistumatta tietenkään). :D

Ohjelman löytyy .rpm-paketti asennusta varten, mutta asentamisen jälkeen vaaditaan mielestäni pientä "hienosäätöä", että asetukset ja tarvittavat tiedostot ovat kunnossa ja oikeilla paikoilla, jotta ohjelman saa käynnistymään palveluna aina koneen käynnistyessä. Olisi kyllä hyvä, jos tuosta olisi vartavasten Mandrivaa varten paketoitu versio... :rolleyes:
