En juurikaan ole seurannut, mitä Mandrivalle on tulossa, mutta tähän törmäsin toisaalla: rpmdrake on uudistunut.
2008 Spring versiossa ei kuulemma enää ole suurta ladattavaa listaa paketeista (hdlist.cz), vaan homma on hoidettu huomattavasti pienemmällä XML tiedostolla.

Jep, näinhän se menee...

Koneelle ladataan urpmi-lähteitä lisättäessä vain synthesis.hdlist.cz ja kun tarvitaan esim. tietoa paketista, haetaan netistä automaattisesti lzma-pakattu info.xml, joka sisältää tarvittavan informaation. Tiedosto tallennetaan myös myöhempää käyttöä varten ja haetaan Internetistä uudelleen vain kun siihen on tullut muutoksia.

Kummastelin tuota hieman aluksi, mutta selvisihän se, kun vähän kaiveli Internettiä... 2008.0 -> 2008.1 RC1 päivitys vaati uudelleenkäynnistyksenkin, että urpmi-tietokanta toimi, sen verran muutoksia taisi tuo uudistus aiheuttaa...
