jakaa .zipin osiin (löytynee urpmi:lla zip nimisestä paketista).

Tosin sen toiminta on vähän niin ja näin, koska ko. ohjelma vaan jakaa .zipin sisällä olevat tiedostot moneen eri pakettiin, joiden koko vaihtelee. Paketin maksimikoko on määriteltävissä, sen täytyy olla kuitenkin vähintään alkuperäisen .zipin suurimman tiedoston kokoinen (esim. jos alkuperäisessä .zipissä on tiedosto A, joka vie pakattuna tilaa 125 megaa, on palastellun paketin maksimikoko oltava suurempi kuin 125 megaa). Zipsplit ei siis palastele pakettia niin kuin esim. Windowsin Winrar, joka palastelee kaikki paketit yhtä suuriksi/pieniksi.
