GNOME -työpöydän päivitys ja äänenvoimakkuuden säätö

Päivitin tässä joskus Mandriva 2010 Onen GNOME -työpöydän. (huusi päivityksiä yläpalkissa eikä antanut rauhaa tehdä mitään.) Sitten tuo yläpalkin äänenvoimakkuuden säätö oli kadonnut (en tiedä mikä on pakettinimeltään) ja kun yritin jotain äänenvoimakkuuden säätöä lisätä tuolta yläpalkista, siis tuosta "Lisää paneeliin", niin valitti jotain "Tämä ominaisuus ei ole saatavilla tälle GNOME -versiolle" tjsp. Jouduin uudelleenasentamaan Mandrivan. Nyt kysymys onkin, että uskaltaako tuosta päivittää sitä GNOME -työpöytää, jos se äänenvoimakuuden säätö katoaa?
